Andrew McIntyre
Andrew McIntyre鈥檚 mathematical research concerns problems in geometry related to mathematical physics. His teaching is student centered and historically driven.
Biography
McIntyre pursues research on problems in geometry related to mathematical physics. In particular, he studies problems inspired by two-dimensional conformal field theory. His work has been published in Geometric and Functional Analysis, Letters in Mathematical Physics, and Advances in Mathematics. A recipient of awards for teaching, he is committed to bringing a more historical and student-centered approach to mathematical education and to incorporating a wider range of mathematics into the undergraduate curriculum. He has held research positions at Ohio State University, the Centre de Recherches Math茅matiques in Montr茅al, the Institut des Hautes 脡tudes Scientifiques in France, and the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Germany. BS and MS, University of Toronto; PhD, State University of New York at Stony Brook. McIntyre has taught at Bennington since 2007.
