Myrna Blyth '60

For more than twenty years, Myrna Blyth was Editor-in-Chief and Publishing Director of Ladies鈥 Home Journal. She was also founding Editor-in-Chief and Publishing Director of More Magazine.
Ms. Blyth is also an author and has written many articles for various publications and websites.Her first non-fiction book, Spin Sisters, a New York Times bestseller, about the effect media has on American women was published by St. Martin鈥檚 Press. She is also the author of 鈥淗ow to Raise an American鈥 which was published by Crown Forum.
Ms. Blyth is now Senior Vice President and Editorial Director of AARP. She oversees AARP The Magazine, which is the largest circulation magazine in the world, AARP Bulletin, AARP website, AARP Book Division, and AARP Studios.
Ms. Blyth has also won many awards including the 鈥淲omen of Achievement鈥 award from the New York City Commission on the Status of Women, the Magazine Publishers of America鈥檚 Henry Johnson Fisher Award, the industry鈥檚 highest honor, and the Matrix Award from New York鈥檚 Women in Communications, Inc. as well as Leader of Industry Awards presented by Folio Magazine.
She was an official American delegate for the UN Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and was Chairman of the President鈥檚 Commission on White House Fellows.
She was married to Jeffrey Blyth, a journalist who is deceased. She has two sons and two grandchildren.
