OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND LIVE STREAMING | Bennington Writing Seminars Alumni Fellows Davin Malasarn MFA '20 and Nina Pel谩ez MFA '24 will read from their recent books as part of the Writers Reading series.
Davin Malasarn MFA '20 is a biologist-turned-writer living in Los Angeles, California. His debut novel, The Outer Country, will be published in 2026 by One World/Random House. He was a PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow and a Plympton Writing Downtown Fellow. His work has appeared in The Los Angeles Review, SmokeLong Quarterly, Cutleaf, and elsewhere. He co-founded The Granum Foundation, a non-profit that supports writers finishing major literary projects.
Nina C. Pel谩ez MFA '24 is a writer, artist, educator & cultural producer interested in themes of displacement, diaspora, ecology, and resilience. Her poetry appears in journals such as Narrative, Prairie Schooner, Electric Literature, Pleiades, Rattle, RHINO, Swamp Pink, & Willow Springs and has been supported by Tin House, Yaddo, AWP, and the Key West Literary Seminars. She is a mentor for The Adroit Journal and works as Associate Director of The Merwin Conservancy.
