How does your Field Work Term relate to your studies at Bennington?

At the moment, my Field Work Term is in clowning and voice at Accademia Dell’ Arte. Since I’m a student of the performing arts, my Field Work Term absolutely relates and connects to my Plan at Bennington.

What does a typical day at your FWT site look like?

My typical day is eight-and-a-half hours of work everyday. It is very physical, with just two ten-minute breaks. The program is conservatory style, so it is intense work as a community.

What has surprised or challenged you most about your Field Work Term position?

Being in a new country and culture in Italy and studying together, as a community, with new people is both exciting and challenging. Navigating chores and food independently can be challenging, but creating work and collaborating as a community–even on hard, intense days–is exciting.

What do you hope to do after Bennington?

I hope to do my next Field Work Term in dance, since this time I did it in physical theatre and voice.
