Field Work Term Spotlight: Liliana VonFrank
Liliana VonFrank '28 studies Chemistry at Bennington. For their summer 2025 Field Work Term, VonFrank is working with faculty member Fortune Ononiwu.
How does your Field Work Term relate to your studies at Bennington?
My Field Work Term is the literal practice of my field of study, as I am doing work in organic synthesis with my faculty member from last term, Fortune Ononiwu.
What does a typical day at your FWT site look like?
This is highly dependent on what needs to be done, but generally I will be either setting up reactions, characterizing results, or researching.
What has surprised or challenged you most about your Field Work Term position?
The precision required in my position has been challenging, but I have luckily managed not to lose very much product (yet!)
What do you hope to do after Bennington?
I hope to explore some of my other interests, possibly including history, computer science, or mathematics.
