Jon Isherwood鈥檚 鈥淪otol Duet鈥 has been recognized  by Americans for the Arts Public Art Network (PAN) Year in Review which annually recognizes outstanding public art projects that represent the most compelling work for the year from across the country.

Isherwood鈥檚 sculpture, commissioned by the City of San Antonio鈥檚 Department for Culture and Creative Development, was one of 28 public art projects chosen from 260 entries. The announcement was made at the Americans for the Arts鈥 2016 annual convention in Boston.

鈥淪otol Duet鈥 is a two-part sculpture made of granite鈥攐ne red, one black鈥攆or the trail head of Panther Springs Park in San Antonio. The sculptures take their shape from the sotol plant that can be found throughout the park.

I鈥檓 proud, but not particularly surprised, that 鈥楽otol Duet鈥 has received this national recognition. I鈥檝e heard from many visitors to Panther Springs Park that this installation enhances what is already a great experience. San Antonio councilman Joe Krier
