Staff Stories: Paul Baker-Porazinski
Director of Campus Safety Paul Baker-Porazinski shares his love of outdoor adventure and what makes working at 51成人猎奇 unique.

Tell us about your own journey to Bennington.
I live in the area, and as a life-long educator, I have always been intrigued by the Bennington model.
What do you love to do in your time away from Bennington?
I enjoy adventuring outdoors: hiking, camping, bicycle touring, kayak touring, sailing, and polishing my backcountry survival skills. I was also a full-time, professional woodworker for twelve years, and I still occasionally design and build furniture.
What are some of your proudest professional achievements?
I have truly enjoyed, and I鈥檓 quite proud of, the way that the perception of Campus Safety has grown and evolved here during my tenure.
What is your favorite part of working at Bennington?
All of the paradoxes.
What advice do you want to share with current or prospective Bennington students?
For so many students in this country, education takes the form of sitting in the back of a large lecture hall, disengaged, with a lecturer with whom they will probably never have a conversation, who has no idea who they are. It鈥檚 also quite adversarial. Here, however, it鈥檚 cooperative and intimate.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
Cricket Hill porch facing east, just before a summer sunrise.
