51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ announced that it has received gifts of 122 works of art in the past year to benefit Art for Access, an innovative new program launched last year to support scholarships and provide educational opportunities for students by inviting new donations of art to the College. Art for Access celebrates the College’s pioneering legacy in the visual arts while advancing its commitment to equity, diversity, and access.

When five first-year 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ students began their annual Field Work Term at in January, they were not sure what to expect working at an adult day care facility.

Beginning in the summer of 2020, 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ will be hosting several of the Middlebury Language Schools on campus. The change was made possible by a new agreement between 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ and Middlebury.

51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ announced it will acquire the Robert Frost Stone House Museum in Shaftsbury, VT, thanks to a generous gift from the Friends of Robert Frost. The home represents the period when Robert Frost claimed his place among America’s great poets. The Museum will complete its scheduled season for 2017, which includes a September lecture and public visiting hours through the end of October, and will reopen to the public in spring 2018.

51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ was awarded an "Energy Leadership Award"  in the institutions division from Efficiency Vermont as part of the 6th Annual Best Practices Exchange, and staff member Holly Andersen received the Energy Champion Award. 

51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ Faculty Members David Bond, Janet Foley, and Tim Schroeder have been awarded a $300,000 National Science Foundation (NSF) grant to deepen and expand the College’s response to PFOA contamination in New York and Vermont.

On Monday, February 20th at 8 pm at The Pershing Square Signature Center in New York City, 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ, in association with The 24 Hour Plays, will present The 24 Hour Plays®: A Bennington Tribute to Spencer Cox. This one night–only event will take place at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre and will bring together 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ alumni and friends—including Emmy, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, and Obie winners and nominees—to write, cast, rehearse, and present six one-act plays within a 24-hour period. Ticket sales and donations will benefit the Spencer Cox ’90 Scholarship for student activists at 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ.
