Counseling and Psychological Services
Licensed staff provide students with an array of psychological services
All mental health services offered through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at 51成人猎奇鈥攊ncluding counseling sessions, psychiatric/medication appointments, and groups鈥攚ill continue to be offered in-person or remotely through live video conferencing and/or telephone as needed.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY:
- For students who are on campus during spring or fall terms, or for students who are off campus in Vermont or another state: If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency, please call Uwill crisis hotline at 833-646-1526. Otherwise, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.
NEED TO TALK, BUT AREN'T IN CRISIS?
- A warmline is a phone number you call to have a conversation with someone who can provide support during hard times. Whether you鈥檙e in crisis or just need someone to talk to, a warmline can help. Warmlines are staffed by trained peers who have been through their own mental health struggles and know what it鈥檚 like to need help ().
Emergencies
- On-campus emergencies: Dial 833-646-1526 to be put in contact with an on-call therapist through Uwill (accessible both on and off campus, 24/7, 365 days a year)
- Off-campus emergencies: Call 911 for immediate help or go to the nearest ER. If not in imminent danger, you can contact Uwill for crisis intervention at 833-646-1526.

- To schedule an appointment: Fill out the intake linked below (link available from week before term starts until a month before term end) or email CAPS@bennington.edu
- To reach the on-call therapist (24/7, 365 days through Uwill): Dial 833-646-1526 to be put in contact with a crisis counselor through Uwill. They are able to assist any time, in any location in the US, during or out of term.
Hours
- During Fall and Spring terms: Administrative office hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; therapy is available by appointment Monday through Friday during the academic year
- Drop-in sessions are available Monday-Friday from 12:00-1:00 pm only. Use the link below to reserve in advance or just come down to the Student Health Center to talk with a therapist during drop-in hours. If you are in need of a drop in session, but are unable to meet 12-1, please contact caps@bennington.edu for help scheduling.
- Summer/Field Work Term: Closed
- Location: Student Health Center
To connect with a therapist through CAPS during the term, please fill out the intake link below. We will reach out to schedule you based on the availability and preferences you state in the intake to the best of our ability, and will reach out to schedule after we receive your intake within 3-5 business days.
If you wish to see a therapist immediately, please sign up via our drop-in link to meet 12-1 M-F, or utilize the services through Uwill such as their crisis hotline, or telehealth therapy.
We are pleased to announce a partnership with Uwill, the leading student mental health and wellness solution. Uwill offers students free immediate access to teletherapy, wellness programming, and a crisis hotline.
To schedule teletherapy:
- with Uwill using your Bennington email address
- Choose a therapist based on your preferences including availability, reason for seeking therapist, gender, language, and ethnicity.
- Choose a time that fits your schedule with day, night and weekend availability.
Students also have free access to on-demand wellness programming through Uwill. Select 鈥渨ellness鈥 from the left navigation, and relax and recharge your mind and body with a wide range of wellness such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and more! Allow Uwill to help you discover greater focus and balance as you navigate the term.

Our goal is to enable students to explore their behavior, emotions, and minds so that they can feel fully ready to manage their lives and experience the relationships and academic opportunities that 51成人猎奇 has to offer. The College is deeply committed to helping students manage this transition in a positive and effective manner. Counseling and Psychological Services plays a critical role in providing support for those students who need short-term support, for those who seek ongoing therapy, medication management, and crisis intervention.
