In an essay in Literary Hub, faculty member Michael Dumanis discusses writing poetry "animated by American English and frequently set in a recognizably American landscape, yet wholly rooted in Russian language and tradition, composed with a distinctly Russian ear and what I think is a distinctly Soviet, ex-Soviet, or would-be-Soviet sensibility".

Today, 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ dedicated the Paul Feeley Painting Studio, in honor of the painter who served on the Bennington faculty from 1939 until his death in 1965 and who, in his career as an artist, was a central figure in the U.S. postwar avant-garde.

The exhibition Dan Shapiro: Bennington and Beyond will be on view at Usdan Gallery at 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ June 17 through August 30. Shapiro taught printmaking at 51³ÉÈËÁÔÆæ beginning in 1947.
