Course System Home Terms Fall 2025 Individualized Practice Lab

Course Description

Summary

This course allows students to self-design course work by combining topics and approaches from the Practice LABs and the Study LABs to meet required hours. The Individualized LABS take the form of a series of self directed intensive workshops and study immersions.

Variable Credit, 1-2 Credits

Learning Outcomes

  • Students plan, summarize and transcribe practices and study into study proposals and personal archival formats to share.
  • Students will demonstrate an advanced understanding of somatically informed physical techniques, body practices, and exercise modalities that shape contemporary dance training and dance-making.
  • Students learn to describe and discuss, both verbally and in writing, the distinguishable changes and tenets within their practice.
  • Students recognize how critical discourse, collectively and collaboration expand how learning happens.

Prerequisites

Enrollment in Low Residency MFA Dance program required.
