In the student's final semester, students in the must upload their Personal Arts Practice Portfolio as part of the requirements for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Expressive Arts concentration. This portfolio will consist of documentation of the student's engagement with expressive arts over the course of their study within the program, including but not limited to expressive arts products submitted as demonstrations of learning, personal expressive arts engagement, and other works engaged as part of their development throughout their time in the program.
In this introductory course, we will read, examine, discuss, and design in conversation with a selected literature of recorded audio, sound design practice, and history. This course will provide the foundational technical, historical, and contextual/cultural support to your knowledge of working in music and sound design in music, theater, film, installation, culture, and in the contemporary world.
Qualitative inquiry seeks to discover and to describe in narrative reporting what particular people do in their everyday lives and what the actions mean to them. The course is intended for students at all standpoints of their individual projects who wish to gain experience and expertise in engaging with qualitative research methods.
This course provides its students with a deep and expansive exploration of the field of psychology. As a diverse field of study, psychology is broadly defined as the study of human behavior. Psychology has numerous sub-areas of study that take different research approaches to examine biological, social, and cultural factors and how they influence behavior, mental processes, societal characteristics, and individual differences.
