Course Description

Summary

This is an environmental policy course with a focus on public action.  The class will explore the dimensions of the production, use and disposal of plastics, including climate change implications, alternatives to plastics, and the need for innovation.  Environmental justice implications will be a major part of the class focus, along how plastics impact health and the ocean.  In the spirit of The Center for the Advancement of Public Action, much of the assigned work will include taking public action to tackle the growing problem of plastic pollution. This class will share civic engagement skills that will be useful to you on any issue you wish you pursue in the arena of public policy.
